Working with schools across County Durham, Darlington and the North East region, our objective is to enrich the education of students and to enhance their employability skills. We achieve this by producing and facilitating a range of high quality work related programmes which bring together students and representatives from the business world.

Key to our success is the excellent support we receive from local businesses. To maintain the quality of our service and to work with more students, we are constantly seeking to increase the number of organisations working with us.

Durham EBP offers a wide range of work-related learning activities which connect what students are taught in school, with the world of work. Our aim is to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attributes needed for adult and working life.

Work related learning activities

Our range of work related learning activities we co-ordinate include:

• Organising interactive careers events in schools. Employers are invited to offer students the opportunity to experience activities from the world of work.  Options can include engineering tasks, catering, crime scene investigation, etc.
• Finding speakers from industry to talk to students about different aspects of their job role and organisation.  These sessions make students aware of the qualifications needed for different careers and the progression pathways available.
• Organising workplace visits for students, to raise awareness of career opportunities and the world of work.
• Bespoke one-off events tailored to meet individual school requirements.
